Lazarus, Come Forth
“Lazarus, come forth! And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.” (John 11:44)
I’m wondering if there’s anyone reading this devotional that’s praying for healing from depression, doubting, fearfulness, needing forgiveness from your past, seeking deliverance, or simply looking for God’s direction.
When our soul is disturbed in any of these ways, it feels like we are “bound” or even dead! Consider the story of Lazarus. He’d been dead long enough to smell. What seemed to be the impossible became possible when Jesus spoke the words: “‘Lazarus, come forth!’ And he who had died came out.”
Now, listen as Jesus calls us by name. He stands at the door of your heart and says: “Come Forth!”
He calls you to leave your dead past behind you.
He calls YOU to FEAR NOT!
He calls you to leave behind your doubt and fear.
He calls you to leave behind your regrets and disappointments.
He calls you to leave your sins at the foot of the Cross of Christ.
He calls you to leave all this and more behind … and to COME FORTH from the tomb that has held you captive … step into His light … and feel YOUR grave clothes fall away!
HE is the RESURECTION and the LIFE! Let this same Jesus that called Lazarus from the grave … resurrect your life!
Jesus stands at the door of your heart and says, “Come Forth!”
